Singapore to allow nutrient specific diet-related health claims

24 April 2009

The Singapore Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) has given the go-ahead for certain nutrient specific diet-related health claims to be permitted for use on qualified food products with immediate effect.

The AVA conducted a review in consultation with the Health Promotion Board (HPB), and the outcome was that local food manufacturers and importers may now apply for the use of a number of nutrient specific diet-related health claims on their products.

The list of claims can be found on the AVA's website.
